Every speck on your shelves spent hours floating before it settled. Skin cells, fibres off the sofa, dust drifting in from outside. It hangs in the air, it comes down, and it works its way into the gaps between studs where nothing reaches it easily.

Which is why the shelf you cleaned last month already needs doing again. The dust was never on the shelf. It was in the room.

What the weekly clean actually costs you

Twenty minutes on one display, once a week, is about seventeen hours a year. And it's not the twenty minutes that wears you down — it's knowing that by the time you finish the last shelf, the first one has started over.

You can keep removing dust after it lands. Or you can stop most of it landing.

Catch it while it's still in the air

This runs continuously in the corner of the room and pulls 250 cubic metres of air through an H13 filter every hour — roughly five full air changes in a normal display room. Airborne particles end up in the filter instead of on your models.

What changes isn't whether you clean. It's how long it takes and how hard you have to work. Less settles between cleans, and what does settle sits loose on the surface instead of being ground into the detail. A pass with a cloth, rather than an evening with a brush.

Why H13 matters for a display shelf

Household dust is mostly 1–10 microns. H13 True HEPA captures 99.95% of particles down to 0.3 microns — comfortably below the size that settles on your sets, so what goes into the filter doesn't come back out.

Behind it, activated carbon handles the closed-up smell of a room full of plastic. The one you stop noticing after a minute and everyone else notices straight away.

A metal intake, not a plastic grille

The lower body is perforated metal with 9 mm holes wrapped the whole way around, so it draws from every side of the room rather than one face. Fine plastic grilles clog with hair and lint, and once they do, the filter behind them stops seeing air. These wipe clean with a cloth.

Quiet enough that you'll leave it on

This is the part most people get wrong when they buy on specification alone. A purifier you can hear is a purifier you'll switch off, and a switched-off purifier does nothing at all. The ones that end up in a cupboard aren't broken — they're the ones people got tired of hearing.

Four fan speeds and a dedicated sleep mode, so it can sit on low all day in a room you're actually using. Or run the timer in bursts — a few hours after a build session, when the air in the room is at its worst.

Where to put it

Floor level, near the shelving, with about a foot of clearance around it. Dust settles downward, so a unit at floor height beside your display intercepts more of it than one across the room on a desk.

Filters

Replace roughly every 6–8 months depending on how much the room is used. Replacement filters are available here, so the unit doesn't become landfill when the first one fills up.
